Seamus makes beautiful art. His work is hanging up all around the house where he is supported by LDN London.
The support team say his artwork brings them joy.
Seamus, who has a learning disability, lives in Kentish Town with support from the LDN London team.
He has been making art for a long time, Seamus says.
Art is a way to show his emotions: “It’s about the feeling” Seamus tells me.
He has developed his art skills recently. He has been making art at ActionSpace, an art studio for people with learning disabilities, for the past year.
In 2024 he took part in his first exhibition, Mondays are Beautiful. He would like to show his work to more people in the future.
The LDN London team have been incredibly supportive.
Support worker, Tonya, bought him oil paints as a present. And his mum also bought him paints.
Steven Luckie, team manager for LDN London, is full of admiration when he talks about Seamus’s art.
He says that art is important because it helps Seamus to be part of the community. And it has helped him feel at home.
“People in supported living can sometimes feel hidden away,” Steven says, “But they should be part of the community. This is part of that. His art should be out there, and it should be celebrated.”
He adds: “It makes him happy and it makes us all happy.”
