At the end of September, we said a sad goodbye to 291 Harrow Road and the people who lived there.
291 Harrow Road has been part of LDN for many years. The people have been an important part of this organisation.
Our team has achieved a lot and given amazing support.
While we’ve known for a while that 291 would eventually close, it was still hard to say goodbye.
The staff will deeply miss the people who lived there.
Before closing the doors for the last time, they made sure to celebrate properly – with a party.
Team manager Margaret Akanyili said: “On a beautiful sunny day in London, people we support, staff, families and visitors from nearby services gathered for a heartfelt farewell BBQ with music, delicious food, and warm conversations. There was a lot of laughter and gratitude filled the air as they exchanged kind words and well wishes to each other.
“It was a joyful, yet emotional send-off to people we support as they prepared to move to their new homes.”
Margaret added: “We will miss all the good times we spent together. We wish all the best to the people we support as they begin a new chapter in their new homes.”
