Brenda creates a lockdown garden

During the lockdown, Brenda was not able to move around as well.

The layout of the building she lives in made it difficult for her to get out of the house, so she spent a lot of time inside.

With the help and encouragement of Marcus, who regularly supports her, Brenda created an indoor garden – with plants that spill out onto the balcony,  a bird feeder and bird house.

Marcus said, “Brenda and I missed our trips out together, so we brought the outside in.”

After LDN announced a sunflower growing competition, Brenda couldn’t wait to take part.

She made sure she fed and looked after her flower, and it became a feature of her balcony garden. Each week Marcus and her checked how tall it was getting.

Brenda won LDN’s sunflower growing competition, with her towering sunflower. It showed her dedication and passion for the garden.
