Two people we support have made a song and music video together – and even turned their home into a recording studio.

Audie and Tikara both live at Piper House in Notting Hill and sang on the song Freeway.

Audie wrote the rap song with LDN London team member Marcin. Freeway is Audie’s second song after he released his debut single, Big O, last year.

Freeway is about Audie’s life, including his friends and family. It’s also about the things that make him feel free. One lyric is, “I feel freedom when I dance / I would stop but I can’t.”

Another is: “We all want to feel freedom / Because we have enough reasons.”

Marcin and Audie recorded the song at a music studio in Portobello Road. Audie was so confident recording, Marcin says, it was “as if he’d been doing it his whole life.”

They then asked Tikara to sing the chorus for the song.

Tikara enjoyed the chance to make music with Audie, she says. “He asked me to be featured in the song, so I said yes. I did it because he’s my friend. I really enjoyed working with him, if he wants me to do it again, I would be more than happy.”

“He’s amazing at rapping,” she added.

Because they couldn’t find an accessible music studio for Tikara, who uses a wheelchair, Marcin set up a microphone in her home. “Marcin turned the flat into a recording studio!” Tikara says.

Audie and Tikara also created a video to go with the song. They filmed, with help from Marcin, in West London and even on the rooftop of London’s scenic Sky Garden.

Tikara says it made her feel special: “Me and Audie are both stars in this house.”

Audie and Tikara are both now working on new music.

Congratulations to Audie, Tikara and Marcin!
