Play & Youth Manager – (Maternity Cover)

We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a Play & Youth Manager to join us at

Kids Can Achieve (KCA) to help us deliver a fun, safe and nurturing environment for children

and young people (Aged 5 to 17 years) with learning disabilities. We are an Ofsted inspected

service that run a very unique service for a very diverse community.

We deliver a range of exciting, creative and innovative specialist and inclusive services to children and young people with disabilities including those with complex physical and learning disabilities, communication disabilities such as autism and behaviours that can challenge.

We are interested in people who share our values and passion for enabling greater opportunities for people with learning disabilities and their families throughout their lives.

About the role:                                  

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery, development and management of a range of high quality services for children and young people.

You will have overall responsibility for the Play & Youth Service and staff within it ensuring that they are performing to the highest standards. Safeguarding children will be a priority.  You will speak up against practices that don’t support safeguarding or KCA values.

Always ensure that ratio and risk assessments are carried out and met.

The ideal candidate should: 

  • Hold a Child Care qualification in NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Have experience of working with children and young persons in a setting which is Ofsted regulated
  • Ideally have excellent leadership skill together with good communication skills
  • Have a willingness to work in partnership with parents and professional bodies to deliver a high standard of service
