Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience in working with people with learning disabilities who have complex needs? Look no further, LDN London has the role for you!
Who we are:
LDN London is an award-winning charity with 60 years’ experience of supporting people with learning disabilities to stay healthy, be safe and live well.
We are currently seeking to recruit several outreach support workers to support people we support in Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea boroughs.
About the role:
Outreach support workers are required to support people with learning disabilities out in the community and in their homes. Applicants must be able to recognise the strengths in people we support and be able to take positive risks to improve and develop life skills to be more independent.
In addition, you must be creative in sourcing new and exciting meaningful activities. The role requires a good level of fitness as it can be physically demanding at times, and sometimes you might need to travel to multiple locations in a short space of time. The role also involves a lot of lone working, so good time management and initiative are essential. This is an incredibly rewarding and exciting job.
Experience with working with autistic people and/or people with behaviours that challenge is desirable.
We are looking for people who can support and share the demands of managing the needs of the people we support in order to enable them to live with fulfilment and purpose.
Team members can expect to assist in being proactive, managing and delivering a service of a high standard.
The ideal candidate(s) will be involved with daily activity planning and maintaining a caring and upbeat person even when times are challenging. You will be asked to keep on top of food levels in the service and support other team members to succeed as well as respecting the need for consistency and following strict guidelines.
Please read the attached job description to further information about the requirements for the role.
