Who we are:

LDN London is an award-winning charity with nearly 60 years’ experience of supporting people with learning disabilities to stay healthy, be safe and live well.

We currently have a vacancy for an Assistant Team Manager to join our Outreach Team covering Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea.  We require an experienced manager to help run this service.

About the role:

We are looking for a dynamic individual who can think on their feet and deal with last minute changes and behaviour challenges on a daily basis. You will be assisting with managing a high functioning diverse team who need support in their lone working roles supporting people on an outreach basis in the community.

Applicants need to be able to deal with people we support/carers in crisis and keep a cool head, whilst recognising strengths in people we support and taking positive risks to enhance independent skills and being creative in sourcing new and exciting meaningful activities, i.e., never being boring! The role requires a good level of fitness as it can be physically demanding at times, and days can require travelling to multiple locations in a short timeframe.

Applicants will need to have experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Autism or PMLD (profound & multiple disabilities).

You will be collaborating with the Team Manager to ensure effective management and coordination of a high quality, person led service and you will also be responsible for managing the shift rotas.

You will be at the forefront of our services and need to promote LDN London’s core values, with a passion for supporting and caring, as well as the drive and energy to raise standards of support and service delivery. 

About you:

The ideal candidate will be a well organised person with the ability to deliver successful outcomes for our service users. You will be confident networker and relationship builder with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

The successful candidate should:

  • be computer literate
  • have, or are working towards, RMA/LMC, Health and Social Care NVQ4/ QCF 5 or equivalent.
  • be willing to work alternate weekends and shifts
  • have experience and knowledge of working with people with learning disabilities in particular autism/complex behaviours/mental health
  • have or be willing to work towards care specific qualifications
  • have good communication skills 

Desirable skills:

  • good knowledge of mental health legislation, equality laws and mental capacity act
  • Minibus driver
