Staff and service users from Learning Disability Network London recently took part in the Santa in the City run 2021 to raise money for our new community hub.

Earlier this week the team braved the cold and dressed as Father Christmas to complete a 5km course in central London.

They didn’t even need help from any reindeer.

Well done Bea, Hannah, Christina, Ciaran, Emma, Oyewole, Maya, Catherine, Ellie, Josephine, Abigail, Kaka, and Elvin.

A special mention goes to all the people we support who took on the challenge.

Hannah, a team manager for services in Camden and Christina, a support worker, pushed Bea to the end of the course. All the while, Bea sang Christmas carols and motivated them to keep running!

The residents based around Camden also had a great time, according to the team there.

So far we have raised an amazing £1150.

The money will be used to reopen our community centre on Harrow Road and hold workshops to teach people with learning disabilities crucial skills and to prevent social isolation.

You can still donate to the runners through their Just Giving pages or through LDN’s page: https://www.justgiving.com/wspld
